Join acclaimed poets and teaching artists Louise Waakaa’igan and Barbara “Miss B” Currin for a unique, outdoor, site-specific “Sound Garden” creative writing workshop at majestic Hartkopf Park in Brooklyn Park, MN, (New Date TBD) from 12-4pm. Participants will be led on a guided nature walk and then given time and space to find a spot amongst the towering oak trees to write and reflect inside a spatial music & sound installation by composer JG Everest, spread out throughout the park space. Participants’ new pieces can then be part of the public Reading and Sound Garden event at 4:30 that same day, followed by refreshments and celebration.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
