On Sept 30 2021, we brought the Fall Sound Garden up to the Akiing Welcome Center for Water Protectors for a special gathering of art and healing on the banks of the Mississippi River in Atkin County, MN. The entire Water Suite: Four Seasonal Sound Gardens was originally inspired by the Water Protectors at Standing Rock, and so it felt like this work has come full circle with an opportunity to provide this experience for the Water Protectors and Artists who had fought on the front lines against the Line 3 pipeline project in Northern Minnesota over the past year, on the battleground and historical site. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with the Akiing Center to bring more Sound Garden events to this special and sacred place.
