Fall Sound Garden at Caponi Art Park

2019 McKnight Composer Fellow / Director JG Everest brings his immersive Fall Sound Garden sound + performance installation to Caponi Art Park in Eagan, MN as part of the annual Eagan Art Block arts tour event. The Fall Sound Garden is one part of Everest’s 4-part WATER SUITE of site-specific “sound gardens”, composed for each of the four seasons in 2018.

The Fall Sound Garden at Caponi Art Park is a family-friendly, free outdoor event open to all ages and will take place from 11am – 3pm on Saturday Sept 14. The Fall Sound Garden is a self-guided, immersive experience in which attendees can move and pause to listen at their own pace, taking time for reflection in this beautiful outdoor natural space, amongst sculptures and a newly installed labyrinth.

The Fall Sound Garden features a temporary sound installation, comprised of 35+ small, battery-powered remote speakers distributed throughout the park site, each playing a different part of the larger piece of music – a spatial “concert you can walk through!” With roving, live accompaniment by members of the Free Range Orchestra & Choir and site-specific nature photography by Sarah Musgrave.
