The Winter Sound Garden first premiered on frozen Lake Nokomis in February 2018, the first installment of composer / director JG Everest’s 4-part Water Suite: Four Seasonal Sound Gardens that premiered at four different outdoor sites around Minnesota in each of the four seasons that year. The premiere featured commissioned site-specific poetry and live dance, and an accompanying Winter song, “Snowflakes” sung by by Blue Lady and the Free Range Choir. Since its premiere, the Winter Sound Garden has been remounted at other sites, including Harbor Park in Grand Marais, West River Parkway and Heartspace Garden in Minneapolis, Crosby Farm Regional Park in St Paul, and at Wild River State Park (scroll down for more videos and photo gallery).
